arrrhhh.....Surrender Your Booty!

One Sunday afternoon Troy & I went to a movie, after we got out of the movie I saw a sign on a store that said "The Artful Potter". Anything with the words Art, Craft, Creative, Hardware, Tools, etc always catch my eye & I had to check it out. It turned out to be a ceramics shop. You could choose any item, paint it, they would fire it and you could pick it up a couple 0f days later.

Those of you that have known me since childhood, know that me & my sis did lots of ceramic pieces in 4H Club. It had been years since I had even stepped foot into a ceramics shop, so of course I got all excited and made Troy stay and do a project with me.

I choose to make a "girly" skull(imagine that), complete with a pink star eye patch and Troy made a water bowl for "The boys". They both turned out quite well & we had fun too!

......oh and the bandanna lifts off of the skull and inside it says: "Surrender Your Booty" & around the outside of the water dish it says: Otis "Little Boy" Elvis "Piggy".......

Flight

This piece again was made from a mold, again with all the detail involved it took a lot of work to get it to the final state. I used Liver of Sulphur to antique the piece but then I burnished it's belly and the heart on the back. I love it with the pearls & the Swarovski crystals; turned out fantastic!

Ring Around the Rosy

I love these bracelets! I wear mine all the time. This is the Byzantine weave broken down into sections and then woven around Swarovski crystals. Fabulous!

Girly Skull

This is really two projects that I turned into one. I first made the chain and at one time it was a bracelet all on it's own. And then I made the ID part of the bracelet out of the clay, took apart the bracelet and attached it to the ID and hence two projects turned into one. I LOVE this bracelet, I wear it all the time.

Solitaire

This was my second attempt at a ring, the ring turned out beautiful but again the size was off.

Mother O' Mine

This was meant to be a mother's day gift, but I kinda messed it up; but she got something a whole lot better anyway! Good concept, execution needs work.

I wanted to insert the dried flower from my garden into the glass on one side and use the wavy foil around the edges on the other. The piece turned out great when I was done, all I had to do was clean off the flux residue. I used the flux remover & I ran it under the water to rinse the cleaner off ........the water went under a piece of foil and onto the photo under the glass and made the ink run. @#%!&#@! I'm glad no one was around, I was not a happy camper!

Anyway, I will remake this project, but have to remember to burnish my foil real good or wipe instead of rinse to remove the flux cleaner next time!

This is a paper image in between two 1" x 1" pieces of glass and then soldered together using a solder iron. I have a million ideas of projects to create with these. I just have to get busy and make more!!!

Broken Heart

This is a piece of broken china, ground into the shape of a heart and then covered with the silver clay.

I Saw Stars

This piece is made using nothing but syringe clay around a piece of Dichroic glass. Again I added Swarovski crystals! I really like this piece.

Victoria

This is a pendant with a CZ and a glass pearl. I used Liver of Sulphur to get the fabulous colors and polished the silver behind the pearl to bring back a little of the natural silver color.
